Lagavulin 16 Year

Not a wine by any stretch, but easily as complex. Charcoal front notes, woody all the way through, with a gouda finish. The beautiful thing on this is that the aftertaste doesn't go away. Thank you.

An Islay single malt and worth every penny. Thinking of pairing with a well aged cheese for an avante garde post dinner celebration.

MK Chicago - Ojai - Stolpman

www.mkchicago.com

MK is laser sharp in presentation and delivery. By far the best wine list I've seen outside of California; reads like a novel. Ask for Troy as a server. He was terrific.

Being familiar with the Stolpman Hilltops Syrahs, we could not resist the opportunity to try some Stolpman grapes applied in the Central California style. Expectations of strong pepper were met and the lingering flavors of the inky grapes sat for a long time on our tongues. Strong but not able to overwhelm the tender scallops and flaky salmon that graced our table amidst the marvelous sundries that the kitchen prepared.
