Clarendon Hills

An aussie bomb of a wine. Smokey, fully textured with plenty of staying power. It cut through a black (and I mean black) and blue steak better than my top of the line table knife. I was surprised at the origin of this wine. It immediately reminded me of the stronger side of Napa, with a little flair all its own.

Pierre Amadieu Gigondas 2004

You wouldn't think that crushed rock would taste good, but it does in
this most interesting mix. Full bodied and earthy are the words that
come to mind as you quaff this highly potent gem. A very good pizza wine
if you are into such things.
